Can I use Excavator Clay Burrowing Substrate to make my bearded dragons a home?
My and my girlfriend went out and bought this stuff called, “Excavator Clay Burrowing Substrate”. We got this with our new bearded dragon and then when I finally got home and read the label better I decided to go back to the store and buy some stuff that I could actually use without hurting my beardie.
Well three months later I pulled out the bag of Excavator Clay Burrowing Substrate and read that you can make things with it. Now I have looked all over the internet for someone who has done this. Not letting their reptiles make it, but use like a pop bottle and shape something around it. But I have looked everywhere and have yet to find anything.
So now I am asking, where can I get more information for something like this, examples of this stuff being used for this purpose that I am speaking of?
I have already cut out a box and now have put the clay around it, but will this work? It is currently in the drying process.
Thanks,
Alex

Questions about reptile substrate: Zoo Med Excavator?
Has anyone used this stuff? I have a bearded dragon and a uromastyx who would both enjoy burrowing but I’m not familiar with this substrate. Is it safe? Does it hold bacteria or carry other risks of causing disease or disorder? Is it used dry? How much would I need for a 55-gallon aquarium? Is it something you clean or just throw away and start over each time the tank is cleaned? What other bedding is as good or better for them? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!
